A Family Reunion On The Mighty Murray, Victoria

Tuesday the 17th of April... We all woke excited... within hours the cousins, who haven't seen each other since Christmas, were going to be catching up,  plus we would be seeing Leon and Dad/Nonno.

We packed up our cabin and headed towards the area where we would be boarding our houseboat. First impressions weren't the best. The boats were vacated and there was no one around.

I left a message on an answering machine and before long a man by the name of Dave was on the phone, telling us the boat was ready for boarding when we were...Perfect!!!
We had a quick brekky and did the shopping for 10 people for 7 days... 4 trolleys later, we were done.
While we were at the checkout... Leon, Dad, Phillip and Ale arrived to squeals of excitement... the kids all hugging each other in the middle of Woolies... it was cute!!

We all headed towards the Houseboat - Simply Irresistible 2 - it has 4 double bedrooms and two rooms with double bunks... along with a kitchen and living area downstairs.

Nonno with all of his grandkids
Nonno also brought with him Harry's birthday present. It was sent by his Aunty Carmel to Port Lincoln, a week before his birthday on the 18th of February... despite pestering Australia Post for 2 months, it somehow got lost along the way... finally being returned to sender.
Harry was very excited about getting his hands on his elusive, well travelled birthday present....

Leon spray n wipes the bathrooms. It's a Leon thing!

Upstairs, there's a bar and spa... all very comfortable!!

After a few lessons on how to operate the boat, we were on our way...

The kids all had fun driving the houseboat...

Cruising the Murray

We then stopped for the night on the left side of the river bed... apparently left is public land and the right side is private land.
It's here where the kids decided to get off the boat, only to find that they were sinking into the mud. That lent itself to mud fights and an almighty mess... but lots of fun.
Jack wonders "what's wrong mum?"

Some foreign kids

A quick water ski, where they all hopefully fell off to clean off, was the only option....
On the biscuit
After getting a little cleaner in the river - the kids had a warm spa... what a life!!
A spa to warm up
Tonight, was dinner and relaxing watching TV, before what will no doubt be a big day tomorrow, cruising the Murray.
