Instead, I got up and decided to do some washing... I wandered off to the laundry while the kids did their homework and threw the sheets in the washing machine.
Before long I headed back to the laundry!!! Why tell a mundane washing story you ask?
Well, when I got to the laundry the sign was being put out for the cleaner to mop the floor between 10-11... it was spot on 10 o'clock,
I called out, but no answer... so I decided that given the floor was still dry, I'd quickly throw my washing in the dryer... Well, the grumpy old bugger saw me and tore threads off me, threatening to have me evicted from the caravan park.
I explained that I had called out and there was no answer and checked that the floor was dry before I walked in... he called me every name under the sun while I continued to smile at him and load the dryer with my wet sheets.
I thanked him for his patience on the way out.... I swear these Tasmanian people didn't get their reputation for no reason.. They may not have two heads but they are not far from it!!!
Anyway, that was the start of the day... I walked back from the laundry crying and my next door neighbours, two rough and ready farmers - offered to go and kill him, they made me laugh but I wondered deep down if they were serious.
They didn't harm him but they did go to reception to complain about him and before long the manager was knocking on my caravan door, very apologetic and explaining that the grumpy old bugger had been spoken to and it wasn't the first complaint.... Phew!!! Glad I got all that off my chest.
I found out later in the day that the gruff neighbours were a bit scared of me, they thought I had killed Richard and got rid of him - because he'd disappeared!! Funny!! So they were out to ensure I wasn't upset :-)
After that I took the kids on a bus to Hobart, where we went to the post office and did some shopping.
When we got home the kids decided to do some fishing in the Derwent, no luck, but it wasn't for a lack of trying.

This morning, Saturday the 17th of March, I took a morning walk along the Derwent River, some of the homes along the river have prime position, but there is not a hint of affluency here.
In Perth, some of these properties would be worth millions.
The kids and I then decided the weather was nice enough to catch the ferry from Mona (The Museum of Old and New Art), which is a short walk away, into Hobart and stroll the Salamanca Markets.
The views from the ferry were beautiful...

Tonight, we have Magic Valley roast beef in the slow cooker - before watching the West Coast in the NAB cup final... tomorrow the Principal arrives back, so life will get back to normal - whatever that is.
