Metung & Farewell Cheney's, Victoria

It's been a beautiful few days in Metung.

We haven't done a lot to speak of, but it's been lovely to stay in one spot and not have to be anywhere.
It's allowed us all to regroup. I have managed to catch up on the washing and get in some morning walks/jogs and get to a hairdresser, Richard has been able to book the caravan & the car in for a service and the kids have been able to buckle down and get some homework done.

I went to the hairdresser to get a colour on Saturday morning the 28th of April, and then we had lunch in Metung before heading back to the house to put the tinny in and take the kids for a kneeboard.
After packing everything in the boat Richard went to start the motor and.... nothing!!!
He had had it serviced the day before in Metung, but the mechanic didn't put the motor back together properly... perfect!!!
We unpacked the boat and decided to go back to the Metung pub instead!
By the time we got back and I had put the Pork roast on for dinner, Megan, Shayne and the girls had arrived from Traralgon for the weekend.
Saturday night was dinner and a few drinks around the campfire.. it was a great to catch up again.

This morning, Sunday the 29th... was a slow start before we headed off to Lake Tyres, where Shayne's parents live.
Lake Tyres, only a sand bar separates the Lake from the Ocean
We all had lunch together at the Waterwheel Tavern, which overlooks the lake, and then went for a walk along the lake, it's such a pretty spot...

On the way back we stopped at a couple of lookouts to take in the view of the Lakes....

We arrived home in time to watch the Eagles beat Richmond before saying goodbye to the Cheney's... we had planned to catch up again next weekend but sadly those plans fell through so this was goodbye...

Goodbye Ella, Shayne, Megan, Georgia & Ashley
Thank you Cheney family for your amazing hospitality and for sharing your beautiful beach house with us... we look forward to catching up again soon.

The rest of the week we will continue to hang out in Metung, enjoying this piece of paradise.
