Gazza's tour of Bateman's Bay, NSW

It was a fairly lazy day yesterday, Tuesday the 15th of May. Richard had some work do to... yes, you read that right! haha.

As you know, we are set up next to Kath 'n' Kim (aka Gazza & Lloyd) so Gazza decided he'd take us on a tour of his home town of Bateman's Bay yesterday. Richard was busy - so it was the kids, Gazza  and I.
Bateman's Bay

Gazza took us on the scenic drive around the coast, which is beautiful, followed by a swing by to meet his Mum Molly and then to see his ex-wife Tracey and the house he used to live in - before she turfed him out.
He was very proud of his turf!! Gazza is a concreter so he felt he had to show us the suburb he concreted and the driveways he's concreted... needless to say, we were all enthralled :-)

About an hour later we were back at the caravan park, we went with Richard into the town of Bateman's Bay, where Jack had a haircut and we wandered around. We were back at the park by around 5.

I offered to make Lloyd a G & T  not realising he doesn't drink... anyway, one and a half Gin and Tonic's later he was tucked up in bed, lights out.

Gazza stayed on and had a beer with Richard, while the kids cooked fajitas for dinner... they did a great job.

This morning, Wednesday the 16th of May,  I woke early and braved the cold for a walk, although the scenery is beautiful it's boring without the thrill of climbing a mountain and chatting with my Canberra walking buddies. Oh well, I'll have to get used to going solo again... unless one blue moon I can convince Richard to join me.

When I arrived back, Richard and I treated the kids to pancakes for brekky, I had earlier spotted the pancake shop on my morning walk.
It was beautiful sitting out in the sunshine overlooking the water and eating brekky...

Richard left the kids and I in town to do some shopping while he went back to do some more work...yes, two days in a row ;-)

Gazza then decided he needed to take Richard on a tour of the region, so off we went again.

Tonight, Lloyd declared he was taking us all out to dinner, so we went to the local Bowls Club... Gazza brought along his Mum Molly.

During our conversation over dinner I heard a very funny quote which I am going to record here so I never forget it... Gazza was explaining the man his Mum looks after who's apparently a millionaire but very tight with his money... in describing him he said - and I quote "He'd skin a turd to get a fart." a bit off I know, but it cracked me up.

Richard stayed at the Bowling Club with Kath, Kim and Molly ... I took the kids home.

Tomorrow, we pack up and head towards the big smoke - destination... Sydney.
