I didn't end up trekking up the mountain for the final time with Noel's and her friends and I was happy I didn't after hearing the temperature.
I do, however, regret not getting a final chance to say goodbye to all of her beautiful friends who had warmly welcomed us and treated us like family.
So goodbye Canberra crew, if you get a chance to read this, thank you for your warm hospitality which well and truly made up for your bloody cold Canberra weather.
Thank you Pete McGrath, who sometime early this morning, dropped off a bag full of Wallabies scarves, pins and cuff links. It was such a beautiful gesture.
No doubt we will meet again, when we play host to you all on Sunnyvale Farm.
We first said farewell to Dougie who had an early start at work before heading to Melbourne for the night to watch his beloved Carlton, we hope they have a better game that the Eagles.
We then frantically set about trying to pack up, blazing a trail from the house to the caravan, again we had well and truly moved in.
It was then time to say farewell to our hostess, yes, she had tried to destroy our livers and her own over the last few days but we still love her regardless and are thankful to both Dougie, Noels and Max for putting up with us...
A sad farewell |
Goodbye Noels - thank you both for everything |
All packed up and some final goodbye cuddles for Maxie and we were on our way....
Harry gives Maxie a goodbye cuddle |
Now its Nina's turn |
destination .. the winding road to Bateman's Bay on the coast.
Our old mates Kath n Kim aka Gazza and Lloyd have been in Batemans Bay for a little while so we text them on the way to say we were coming... Gazza, getting all excited, ordered us an on sweet (aka ensuite) next to them.
We passed them on the way into town and they did a u turn to follow us in. They crack me up!
This afternoon, we had a Nanna nap... Part of our recovery process after the last four days. It was then an early dinner before jumping into the warmth of our beds ( its still cold on the coast) to watch The Voice.
Tomorrow we will explore the Bay.
Great photos Sonia my Maxie is missing all the cuddles think he might have to sleep with me tonight with Dougie away xxx
