There were blue skies and sunshine in Canberra this morning (very deceiving because it was bitterly cold) and I was still in a deep slumber, when I was bombarded with kisses and cuddles from my 3 beautiful children.
I was also very spoilt with a beautiful pearl ring that the kids had secretly brought for me in Merimbula, some earrings that Nina had brought for me while Harry discreetly distracted me (NOT) in the shops the other day and a great voucher from Harry - 2 weeks of cleaning - too cute...

Uncle Glen also popped in to Doug and Noels to pick up his bike after staying at a friends house for the night. After a short chat and trying to talk himself into wanting to ride home in the freezing cold, he decided to bite the bullet and hit the road ... we will see him again in a week or so, when we arrive in Sydney...

By late afternoon, and after some badgering, I managed to get everyone into the car to take me out for lunch in the freezing cold - Richard had already had a beer (part of his Mothers Day celebrations) so I drove us out to lunch.
We ended up following Noels instructions and went to Manuka to have lunch at an Italian Restaurant called Bellluci's.
On the way to the shops I was tempted to buy myself a new jacket but didn't, given my lack of wardrobe space in the caravan... but the kids decided to sneak off during lunch, surprising me with the beautiful warm jacket.
I wore it through lunch and between the jacket and the beautiful champagne, I was as warm as toast.

It was a beautiful afternoon and I was made to feel very special... the food must have been good too because Harry (the margarita pizza connoisseur of Australia) declared it the best so far....

...we arrived home around 4ish and Richard went to the pub to watch the football with Dougie, while I went home with the kids in the warmth and lounged around - with the prospect of an early night.
Tomorrow, we say goodbye to our beautiful friends and Canberra hosts Dougie and Noels and head back to the coastal town of Bateman's Bay. We have loved every minute of being in Canberra. Other than the cold it's such a pretty town.
Our hosts and all of their mates have treated us like family, which we are so grateful for.
We will take with us such happy memories of Canberra.
Hey Harry I'm commenting on your blog. I drove to work feeling very sad that our WA friends were leaving. I feel very privileged that we had them stay for 5 nights. They could have stayed forever but Richard would have killed me - boy he is great fun!!! Love you guys and can't wait for our next get together. Enjoy the bay xxxx
