An esky full of fish, Tin Can Bay, Qld

Wednesday the 15th of August was another early morning for the boys, they were off on a fishing charter to try their luck for a second day of fishing.
Jack's birthday yesterday on the water didn't eventuate into catching the big one - so they decided to take two.
While the boys were away, Nina and I decided to go and get in some retail therapy in nearby Cooloola. With a Woolworths, a news agency and a Red Dot we were bound to max out the credit card ;-)
We arrived home, keen to try another dish in the thermomix - we decided that we'd make a lasagne.

By around 3 - an hour early, we had a text that the boys were 5 minutes away and we had to pick them up.... Gee! the thermomix was still 15 minutes away from finishing.... only half a lasagne done -
we arrived in time to see the boys arriving at the boat ramp, the smiles on their faces said it all....
Arriving back after a long day of fishing

They had had a bumper day - Jack pulling in more than 50 fish, including the biggest of the day. His 10th birthday had been a success after all...
The very happy fishermen and their haul

Line 'em up

Harry, Jack, Ted (who also chartered the boat) & Richard

The fishing charter skipper Steve, said he'd never seen two better fishermen that Jack & Harry. The boys were over the moon.
Esky loaded, it was time to start filleting, which Richard did over a beer while half the caravan park looked on, happy to hear the fishing stories for the day and to take a fillet home....
Richard fillets the fish

By around 6ish the fish were all filleted vacuum packed, ready for the freezer... the boys cleaned the equipment while I put on a load of fishy washing before dinner (lasagne of course).
Tomorrow, we leave Tin Can Bay. The place really has grown on us, including the caravan park and the people in it. We will miss our nightly chats with Les and Bev...
