I will miss our Bali adventure but am extremely grateful for it - we have all had such an amazing time here.
Sunday the 29th of July began like all the best Sundays - a sleep in - before we headed up to the Canggu Club for brunch. We will miss the Canggu Club... It had been like our western sanctuary, away from the busy hussle and bustle, that is Bali.
After brunch we returned back to Villa Hai for a lazy afternoon. I read a book and sat by the pool (a rarity) while the boys watched the footy before heading off to the local sports bar to watch the Eagles beat Brisbane (finally a win).
When the boys returned home we headed off to Echo Beach to meet up with Shelly (from Brisbane) it was Shelly's birthday and she was in fine spirits when we arrived....

After catching up with the birthday girl we continued towards a restaurant come man-heaven shop called Deus.
The restaurant/shop has a great band and family atmosphere on a Sunday. So while one part is a restaurant, the other part is a dealership for Deus motorbikes, surfboards, blokes clothing etc... It's well done, and no doubt makes a squillion catching the guys as they walk out with a tummy full of beer on any given night. On Tuesdays they have Taco & Tattoo's night - very Bali haha!!!
After listening to a solo guitarist, having dinner and then dancing to a reggae band, we headed home to Villa Hai.
Monday morning, the 30th of July, I was up and adam and off to my last power plate session. After 7 weeks of power plate I am feeling so much stronger... I said goodbye to my trainer Wahu, thanking him for his patience and vowing to be back on my next visit.
I then headed out with Lee to a hair salon in Kerobokan called Rob Peetoom. Rob, the owner is a regular at the Canggu Club gym so he had passed on some hair vouchers for Lee and I to try.
The place was amazing and the treatment, decadent to say the least...

Our gorgeous view of the rice paddy from the salon |
Lee & I sat back as we had a hair treatment and neck & shoulder massage as we looked out onto a rice paddy.
From there, we met Richard and the boys in Kuta at a new shopping centre called Beachwalk for lunch.
After a late lunch we returned home to find Shelly had moved back in... she had had a big birthday the night before but was in fine form when Richard & I left her with Ron & Lee and a few bottles of red.
It wasn't until 4am that they called it a night or a morning.
Tuesday the 31st and I was up early again and off to my last Personal Training session with Ron from the Canggu Club.... again he put me through my paces... I will miss routine again, once we get back on the road.
I came back and Richard and I went for a coffee up the road at our regular little coffee shop called Butter... it was another chance to ride my bike, which I am getting very confident on... Dad & Leon, you would both be proud!!!
Back to the Villa again and Shelly was alive and ready to do some shopping, so we decided to take her to the Bali Galeria... hung over, Shelly sat by the door drinking water, which we were unaware of, until it was time to meet up an hour later.
We figured the only way to cure Shelly's hangover was to go to Naughty Nuri's for ribs and margaritas... so that we did.
Ron & Lee met us there and we had our last Margarita & Pork Ribs for this visit while Nina had one more Margarita dance with the staff....
Nina does a Margarita dance - she's getting good at them |
A margarita at Naughty Nuri's |
Shelly & I - Shelly couldn't finish her Margarita!!! |
Lee thought she'd take it easy and order a Mango Margarita... we all laughed when we saw the size of her drink, so Shelly ordered one too... - we laughed when they came out....
Shelly tried to best to work through this drink |
So did Lee. They were huge!!! |
Bellies full and a couple of Margaritas under my belt - we headed back to Villa Hai and everyone chilled for the afternoon.
Nina woke me about 5ish desperate to get her nails done before we left, so Lee, Nina and I headed up to the local salon.
Nina has her last Bali pampering session for the trip |
By the time we arrived back everyone was happy just to be, so we ordered take away Italian before one by one we all slipped off to bed.
This morning (the first of August), Richard and I took off on our bikes for a coffee at Butter before taking a tour around the area to look at all he new Villas going up - the area is growing so quickly - its even developed before our eyes in the last 7 weeks.
Harry and I then headed into Seminyak for one last massage with Putu before heading back to write the blog and pack our bags.
Tonight, we leave - grateful for this special Bali experience and grateful for some special time with Ron & Lee in their beautiful piece of paradise. We will miss them both, along with their new family member - Kite.
