Our Helifishing Adventure, by Jack

Sunday the 28th of October... We got up early and got ready to go helifishing. We went outside and there was a big thunderstorm on the way. We left and stopped to get some brekky on the way to the helicopter. You could not see out the window of the car, there was too much rain.

When we got there we had to wait about fifteen minutes so the weather could clear up.
When we hopped in the helicopter it was so cool. You had to wear headphones to talk to each other.

We got up in the air and you could see everything, we also saw a big croc in the water, he must have been about four to five metres long, it is cool to look at them.

When we were fishing on the bank we also saw a croc come running out of the bush because we scared him.

When we got to our spot to fish we landed and got the rods ready. We stayed there for about half an hour and we got no fish so we went to another spot.

I had one flick and got none so I had another and  I was on, it was a catfish. But we were looking for Barramundi. We moved and went up to the point and Dad had one flick and he was on, it was a Barra. Dad got it up and it was 70cm long and the biggest he has ever caught is 71cm long. We had to throw him back.

We had another few casts and Harry was on, it was a Barra and it was 78cm long.

Then Harry got to sit in the front

When we left that spot we tried one more spot and we got none. We still had 20 minutes of fishing so we went to the spot we started at but we got no fish.

On the way home we stopped and had a look at some termite mounds, they are so cool they looked like a graveyard from up in the air.

When we landed we got in the car and went back to the caravan to get ready to go to Bali and tell Mum and Nina how cool it was.

We left in a taxi to go to the airport. When we got there we checked in and we went up to the lounges and had dinner. Then we got on the plane and slept the whole way. When we landed we got our bags and Rama picked us up and we got to Pop and Huggy's house and we went to bed.
