Rain, Rain Go Away, Byron Bay

It's been a pretty low key weekend. My partner in crime is away and well... life is boring without him around, in a place like Byron Bay, plus, it has rained the entire weekend.
I managed to get in an early morning pump class yesterday morning Saturday the 2nd of June, and when I got back the kids and I jumped into bed together and watched TV while the rain continued to fall.
By afternoon we were getting cabin fever, so we waited for the rain to die down long enough to make a run for the car and take a drive up to the lighthouse.
The Byron Bay lighthouse is the eastern most point of Australia, and the biggest lighthouse in the country.
The view from up there was beautiful....

After that, we went back to the caravan for dinner and settled in to watch the football.

This morning, Sunday the 3rd of June, we woke to more torrential rain... will it ever stop?
We decided to venture out anyway and had a nice brekky in a cafe next-door, overlooking the water.
We then wandered the streets towards the Sunday markets, but it started raining so heavy that we had to turn around and go back to the caravan park.

Within an hour we peeked our heads out of the caravan to find blue skies (a miracle)... we quickly ran to the surf shop and hired surf boards and a body board and we were all surfing, making the most of thebrief but beautiful rays.
Tonight, we went for dinner at Hogs Breath Cafe agin, before heading back, via the beach to listen to the nightly drummers, who had thinned out by the time we got there....

It was TV watching Dancing With The Stars before shut eye tonight.
We did hear from Richard today, he rang to say he had caught 8 barramundi... obviously another hard day at the office for him :-)
