He got to choose the flavour of his happy gas, (he chose orange) and then before long he was in the land of nod and back home by lunchtime with several fillings and a little dozy but otherwise well.
Friday the 24th of February began with an early morning beachside walk, before we packed up the van and our bags and headed to the Bamford's for the weekend. They live about 30 minutes from the caravan park towards the Adelaide hills, in the leafy suburb of Glen Osmond.
It was lovely to have a big bedroom with an ensuite and be able to use as much toilet paper as you want (it's the little things in life).
Jack and Harry shared a bedroom and Nina got her own room.
There was also a pool and a tennis court which the kids utilised to the fullest.

The boys went for a drive on Friday afternoon while the girls went to a local shopping centre to do a little damage.
My favourite shop ZARA was in the shopping centre, so "a little damage", is a slight understatement.
Saturday morning the 25th of February, Richard and Frank were up and off to Frank's Nissan dealership, while the girls, Jack and Harry used the gym, played some tennis and had a swim.
The afternoon was spent touring the Adelaide Hills and we stopped to have lunch in the early German settlement town of Hahndorf.
On the way back from the hills we dropped Richard, Jack and Harry off at the Adelaide Oval to watch the state cricket one-day final between SA and Tassie. The boys were very excited about getting to watch Ricky Ponting in action.
It was a beautiful afternoon but the scorching 40 degree day had us heading home (back to the Bamford's) to some air-conditioned comfort.

Last night we had a BBQ, Frank and Di's son Ryan and his family came over. It was nice to finally meet them after hearing so much about them all.
Goodbye Frank |
Today Sunday the 25th of February, we left Frank and Di's and headed back to the van after a great weekend.
The kids were hungry when we got home so Jack made mince patties on his own and cooked them on the BBQ. They tasted fantastic!!!!

An afternoon bike ride along the beach took us to Glenelg, where the kids spotted The Beachhouse, a cross between Waterbom Park and a local show grounds. So they were off, on watersides, bumper cars, bumper boats and mini golf.
We rode back to the caravan in the rain, some cool relief after a few days of searing heat.
Tonight, Richard cooked chilli mussels for dinner. They were delicious!!!!
Then an early night before Nina has her turn at the Wakefield Surgicentre.
Hi Sonia great to keep up with all your travels. Sounds like summer has come very late in SA as it has here just hope it continues although raining here today. We've had a quiet weekend Brumbies won their first game Friday night at Canberra stadium, spent the day by the pool Saturday and went to the Celtic Thunder concert Saturday night. We bought tickets for dougs mum but her holiday with us has mainly been spent in hospital so I had top rope a girlfriend in to come instead. Not sure what is wrong with Ruth just very unsteady on her legs so they are doing all these tests. Keep on having fun as I'm sure you wil xx
ReplyDeleteHi Noel's,
DeleteSo nice to hear from you. Not good about Dougie's mum. Hopefully it's minor & she is back on her feet before too long. I hope Dougie is going well. How is young Max? I can't wait to see you all.
Sending lots of love xxxxoooo
